Item # 8.1. <br />city <br />E <br />K~.ver <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Mayor & City Council <br />FROM: Rebecca Haug, Environmental Administrator <br />DATE: April 5, 2010 <br />SUBJECT: Public Flood Risk Information Open House <br />In partnership with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MN DNR), the <br />Federal Emergency Management Agency(FEMA) Region V office recently scheduled a <br />public Flood Risk Information Open House for communities in Sherburne County. The <br />purpose of the Open House is to present updated flood risk data and provide information to <br />the City Council and other local officials, as well as Sherburne County citizens. <br />Two meetings have been scheduled fox Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the Sherburne History <br />Center, 10775 27~' Ave SE, Becker. The first will be from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m and is geared <br />towards local elected officials and staff. The second meeting will be from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 <br />p.m. and will be geared towards the public to talk one-on-one to FEMA and/or the MN <br />DNR. <br />A press release has been sent to the Elk River Star News and a flyer has been placed in the <br />City's display case. The Lake Orono Improvement Association has also informed its <br />members. <br />
