OVERVIEW <br /> <br />The applicant is requesting an easement vacation to vacate a portion of a drainage and utility <br />easement adjacent to a proposed 20,000 square foot expansion to Cub Foods. The area to be <br />vacated is about 480 square feet. The easement vacation will allow Cub Foods to square off <br />the back of the building. Without the easement vacation, the back corner of the building will <br />have to be indented to go around the existing easement. <br /> <br />Impact on utilities <br /> <br />As outlined in the City Engineer's memo, the proposed easement vacation will not adversely <br />affect the existing storm sewer, sanitary sewer or water line located within this easement. <br />These lines are located to the west of the area that is proposed to be vacated. The proposed <br />building expansion, which will be located within the area to be vacated, is about 15 feet from <br />the nearest utility, a storm sewer line. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve Resolution No 01- vacating a portion <br />of a drainage and utility easement located on Lot 3, Block 1, Elk Park Center 4th Addition, as <br />shown Exhibit A <br /> <br /> <br />
