urnNn ~ . ~,~, ve ants In additian to the bituminous improvements, the work in bid schedule $ includes enlarging the curb radius of the northwest cornea of the intersection of Line Avenue with Twin Lakes Road from 34 feet to 50 feet. The existing radius allows for same but not all vehicles to male this turn without either hacl~ing over the curb ox swinging wide and into the oncoming lane of traffic. with the proposed 50 foot radius, buses, shaight single unit Mucks, and smaller semi Mucks ~wB50} would be able to negotiate the turn onto Line Avenue without hacking over the curb. If larger semi trucks ~wBGS} attempt making the turn yin the new conf~guxation, they would still tracl~ over the curb. Based on observations of traffic and tracl~ing aver the curb that has occurred, increasing the radius to 50 feet will support the majority of haffic needs at the intersection. The cost of the curb improvements included in the bid is $G,5$9.G0 ®nsruc~~®n ®~rrnar®n Befoxe canshuction may begin, a schedule of worl~ will be submitted by the conhactox. The contractor is responsible for• maintaining access to properties throughout conshuction. Residents on Line Avenue affected by construction will be notified prior to construction commencing. The contract requires 14 days advance notice be posted before any street closure or detours ale in place. The schedule in the conhact allows for the contactor to begin any time after July 7, 2010 and complete all worl~ by September 3, 2010. The special provisions for the woxl~ on Line Avenue require the contractor to have the bituminous base in place within 14 calendar days of beginning work on Line Avenue. ~nanc~a~_~rnpa~ct The budgeted amount for this project is $135,000 from the Street Reset~re Fund. The street division will provide bucking to haul away and stock pile excess millings. The stockpiled millings will be used as aggregate by the sheet division for maintenance of other sheets through out the city. In addition to the bituminous pavement work in this conhact, pavement marl~ings need to be replaced.
