be based on existing and <br />reasonably foreseeable electric <br />generation, transmission and <br />distribution technologies, <br />greenhouse gas emission <br />control and sequestration <br />technologies, and efficiency <br />technologies; <br />avoid disrupting the U. S. <br />economy and local economies, <br />particularly by causing high <br />energy prices; <br />recognize the importance of <br />preserving a diverse mix of <br />electricity generation fuels, <br />including coal, nuclear, natural <br />gas, and all renewable energy <br />sources including hydro; and <br />recognize that major shifts <br />from other fuels to electricity <br />will transfer increasing <br />emission reduction <br />responsibilities to the <br />electricity sector over time <br />(e.g.,gas-powered cars and <br />trucks replaced by electric <br />autos). <br />
