6, Communit~~o~e ~.epresentation <br />~~ <br />The Mayor appoints Council members to mend and represent the City Council at various community <br />meetings. The Council member is just a representative and not at liberty to act on behalf of the <br />Council, As a representative of the City Council your responsibilities are limited to: <br />a. Attending and documenting the meeting by providing a written report for the City Council <br />by use of the Council packets, <br />b. Answer any questions that the committee or board might have <br />c. Bring back any issues, concerns or unanswered questions to the Council far consideration <br />and action. <br />Council members shall refrain from using their position to improperly influence the deliberations or <br />decisions of any outside committee or board. <br />7. Positive work Environment <br />Council members shall support the maintenance of a positive and constructive environment for <br />citizens, businesses, City Council and City staff. <br />S. dew Issues andlor Items for Consideration b the Council IVienabers <br />City Council members and City Staff will insure that any new issues or items for consideration andlor <br />decision by the Council will be presented to the Council ~. a workshop before being placed on the <br />City Council agenda fox vote (i.e,, new projects, grant considerations, etc}, This does not include <br />payment for bills that have a}ready been voted on or approved by City Council ooday-today or <br />month-to-month ac~.vities. <br />9. Priorities of Council and Use of_City Staff <br />Before asking City Staff to research or put together action items, Council members will workshop the <br />issues or item with the satire council before expending the use of City Staff time and energy. <br />10.
