Results Locally Preferred Transportation Investment <br /> Strategy (LPTIS) <br />Considering the results of the evaluation of the alternatives, the <br />NCDA concluded that a comprehensive, multi-modal transportation <br />investment strategy best meets the goals and objectives of the <br />Northstar Corridor. The recommended elements of the LPTIS are <br />as follows: <br /> <br />· Commuter Rail between Downtown Minneapolis and St. <br /> Cloud/Rice <br />· Expanded Feeder Bus Service <br />· Roadway Improvements in the TH 10 Corridor <br />· Two New River Crossings <br />· Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Initiatives <br />· Bicycle/Pedestrian Improvements <br /> <br />In addition to these specific elements, the NCDA recommended <br />that the appropriate governmental entities work to implement <br />additional transportation connections at both ends of the Northstar <br />Corridor to ensure safe and efficient travel throughout the Twin <br />Cities and St. Cloud metropolitan areas.
