r' X' <br />Section 7: Climbing Structure Abatement Request: $2,588.28 <br />The Climbing Structure is a climbing area where children can explore elevated platforms <br />to their heart's content. With 12 platforms to explore, this is sure to be a favorite area <br />for children to enjoy. Many different options were reviewed for platform choices <br />including: Green-treated, premium, cedar, Trex®and Choicedek®. For longevity, <br />Trex®or Choicedek® materials were chosen as the final products to use. Trex® <br />composite products are made from approximately 50 percent recycled and reclaimed <br />plastic, and 50 percent reclaimed wood. (www.trex.com) Choicedek® is made from over <br />90% recycled content. It is manufactured using recycled wood fibers and polyethylene <br />plastic such as milk jugs, grocery bags, and/or packaging films.(www.choicedek:com) <br />Trex® Cost: $3,020.28 (includes decking, green-treated boards, joist <br />hanger, hardware and bolts) <br />Choicedek® Cost: $2,588.28 (includes decking, green-treated boards, joist hanger, <br />hardware and bolts) <br />Section 8: Summary <br />Thank you for considering our request of $16,808.23 in recycled materials to be used in <br />the Nature Classroom. The Nature Classroom committee will be raising additional funds <br />to help build the other five nature areas providing a fun, educational and natural <br />learning center for all. <br />4 <br />
