Objectives - 1. To organize a working committee of Elk River citizens with membership including the Sherburne County Historical Society Board of Directors and staff, a representative liaison from the City of Elk River, ~.~Iinnesota Historical Society, Elk Rarer Arts and Theater groups, the Elk River School District 728, the Elk River area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and staff, business community, service organizations and • other interested citizens. 2. To create a plan and pro~Yde direction to the exploration of doing public programs, events and -activities related to the history of Elk River, the testing of potential audiences and the deteririnatior. of event and program feasibility. 3. To reach out to other historicai scups ar_d individuals throughout the community and in~Ytes them to participate in programs organized around the events and historical themes identified by the Citizen Heritage Planning Committee. 4.
