-~~r ~~ <br />• City of ~t <br />Elk River <br />PROCLAMATION <br />Minnesota Special Olympics Day <br />July 8, 1995 <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Special Olympics Annual Softball Tournament will be held on <br />Saturday, July 8, 1995 at the Junior High Badl Fields in Elk River; and <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Veterans of Foreign Wars and its Ladies Auxiliary have <br />sponsored the tournament for ISyears; and <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Special Olympics allow the athletes to experience the excitement <br />of competition, continued personal achievement, and recognition of their <br />abilities; and <br />• WHEREAS, these softball games provide the citizens of Minnesota with ¢n opportunity to <br />witness the drive, energy, potentl¢l, and capabilities of people with mental <br />retardation; and <br />WHEREAS, the dives of everyone involved including the athletes, coaches, volunteers, and <br />spectators are enriched; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Henry A. Duitsman, Mayor of the City of <br />Elk River, hereby proclaim Saturday, July 8, 1995 as <br />MINNESOTA SPECIAL OLYMPICS DAY <br />in Elk River <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Elk River citizens are encouraged to attend the <br />'"innesota Special Olympics softball games on July 8, 1995, ¢t the Junior <br />:gh Ball Fields. <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have set my hand and <br />caused the seal of the City of Elk River to be affixed <br />this 5th day of June, 1995. <br /> <br />Henry A.
