City Council Minutes May 14, 2001 6.2. Open Mike Issues Page 3 Councilmember Dietz requested the council to inform staff of open mike issues that are known prior to the council meeting so that staff can be prepared to address the issue at the meeting. 7. Staff Updates 1. Ci.ty Hall Expansion Pat IGaers updated the council on the progress that the staff city hall expansion committee has made. The fzrst task for this committee has been to identify and review space needs and issues associated with the city hall expansion project. Pat indicated that the committee needs professional assistance to move the study further along and will be meeting with Architect Gary Tushie of Tushie-Montgomery & Associates to discuss the project. He stated that he has asked Gary Tushie to submit a proposal for services to analyze space and programming needs. The City Administrator requested council representation on the committee. Councilmembers Motin and Kuester volunteered to be on the committee. 2. Cell Phone Program The City Administrator updated the Council on the city's cellular phone police. 3. Meeting Schedules The City Administrator discussed the Council meeting schedule. COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO CANCEL THE MAY 29, 2001 CITY COUNCIL MEETING AND TO CALL A SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING ON JUNE 4, 2001, AT 6 PM TO DISCUSS REGULAR COUNCIL BUSINESS INCLUDING A REPORT FROM THE CITY ENGINEER. COUNCILMEMBER TVEITE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. The City Administrator informed the Council that he plans to hold a budget meeting on July 9. Councilmember Dietz indicated there might be a chance that he will be unable to attend. 8.
