Memo to City Council Page 2 <br />June 19, 1995 <br />today's lumber yards, which often sell not only lumber products but other <br />accessory products such as tools, electric supplies, lighting material, etc. In <br />• fact, most of the newly constructed lumber yards, i.e., Menards/Knox, have <br />been built in areas with high visibility in commercial zoning districts. With <br />proper landscaping and screening, lumber yards can coexist with other <br />highway commercial uses without conflict. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />At the May 23, 1995 Planning Commission meeting the Commission <br />concurred with staffs findings and recommended approval of the proposed <br />ordinance. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff and the Planning Commission recommend the City Council approve the <br />code amendments as proposed in the attached ordinance. <br />n <br />LJ <br />• <br />s:counciCoa95-5 <br />
