Ach, City Planner~~__~ <br /> <br />December 18, 1995 <br /> <br />Planning Fees <br /> <br />Issue <br /> <br />Consider adjusting planning apphcation fees. <br /> <br />Overview <br /> <br />On an annual basis, staff conducts a survey of surrounding and other similar <br />developing communities to assess their fee structure as compared to Elk <br />River's. When considering an increase in application fees, staff reviews the <br />following: <br /> <br />· How does Elk River's fees compare to the surrounding and similar <br /> communities? <br />· Which apphcations generally demand the greatest amount of staff time to <br /> review, prepare reports and administer? <br /> <br />The last time planning apphcation fees were adjusted was January of 1994. <br />Since that time, it has become clear the applications which generally demand <br />the greatest amount of staff time are: <br /> <br />· Subdivisions (preliminary and final) <br />· Conditional use permits <br />· Site plan review <br /> <br />Therefore, the fees for these apphcations are proposed to be increased as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Conditional use permit (commercial/industrial) <br />Preliminary plat <br /> <br />Site plan review <br /> <br />1995 Fee 1996 Fee <br />$250.00 $300.00 <br />$500.00 $500.00 + $5 <br /> perlot <br />$200.00 $250.00 <br /> <br />13065 Orono Parkway · P.O.
