Economic Development Authority Minutes <br />June 8, 2009 <br />Page 2 <br />The first bulleted point was changed to read "maintain listing" rather than "maintain <br />inventory." <br />The second bulleted point, "monitor inventory of housing stock to identify gaps," was added <br />by the HRA. <br />Ms. Mehelich indicated that upon adoption of the plan, staff will prepare a detailed workplan which <br />identifies specific actions, timeframes, and responsibility for achieving the strategies of the plan. <br />President Dwyer stated he would like to review the worl~lan at the July meeting. <br />MOVED BY COMMISSIONER KLINZING AND SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />WESTGAARD TO APPROVE THE 2009 - 2012 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />STRATEGIC PLAN AS OUTLINED IN THE STAFF REPORT. MOTION <br />CARRIED 7-0. <br />6. Economic Development Marketing Update <br />Ms. Deckert provided an update on marketing activities as outlined in her staff report. <br />She stated that Sherburne Countywill be holding their second annual roundtable on June 16. She <br />stated the focus will be on green energy industries and a rail industrial park presentation presented <br />by Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. <br />Ms. Deckert indicated that earlier this year, staff submitted an application to the Economic <br />Development Association of Minnesota nominating Sportech's expansion for the annual Business <br />Retention and Expansion Development Award. She stated that the partnership between the EDA <br />and Sportech was chosen as the winner of this award. Staff will accept the award on behalf of <br />Sportech on June 17. <br />7.
