Elk River Library Elk River Library <br />1 /18/2008 <br />Construction Application <br />^o o^ Indoor Chemical & Pollutant Source Control Credit 5-Version 2.2 <br />Construction Application 2/3/2009 <br />The LEED Submittal Template has been provided stating that the project has installed the required indoor <br />chemical and pollutant source control measures required by this credit. A listing of each entryway product <br />installed for the building has been provided and incases where roll out/carpeted systems have been used, <br />confirmation of required contracted maintenance has been provided. Copies of the project's construction <br />drawings have been provided to show the installed entryway systems. However, drawings were not provided to <br />illustrate room separations and required ventilation systems. The Submittal Template states that MERV 13, and <br />MERV 7 filtration media has been installed in HVAC systems prior to occupancy. However, the credit requirement <br />states that all air filtration media must have a Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV) of 13 or greater. <br />TECHNICAL ADVICE: Please provide construction and mechanical drawings to demonstrate the deck to deck <br />partitions and dedicated exhaust for thejanitor closet. Additionally, please provide clarification as to the <br />installation of both MERV 13 and MERV 7 filters at air handlers 1, 2, and 3. <br />o^ ^o Controllability of Systems: Lighting Credit 6.1-Version 2.2 <br />^o o^ Controllability of Systems: Thermal Comfort Credit 6.2-Version 2.2 <br />^o Thermal Comfort: Design Credit 7.1-Version 2.2 <br />Design Application 9/20/2007 <br />The LEED Submittal Template declares that the project has been designed to maintain indoor comfort within the <br />ranges established by ASHRAE 55-2004. Information on temperature and humidity design criteria and a <br />narrative have been provided. <br />^o o^ Thermal Comfort: Verification Credit 7.2-Version 2.2 <br />Construction Application 2/3/2009 <br />The LEED Submittal Template has been provided explaining that a thermal comfort occupant survey will be <br />developed and will be distributed to building occupants within the first 6 to 18 months of occupancy. A <br />narrative describing the survey and how the survey will address thermal comfort issues in individual spaces and <br />common areas has been provided. However, insufficient information has been provided in the narrative to <br />describe a corrective action plan. <br />TECHNICAL ADVICE: Please provide a detailed, comprehensive plan for corrective action that includes the <br />hierarchy of reporting, personnel responsible for administering the survey, personnel responsible for collecting <br />and analyzing the data, designations and authority levels of the personnel who will implement the plan and the <br />process for validation of the corrective actions. <br />Page 11 of <br />13 <br />
