Review the proposed worksession agendas and let staff know if there are changes or additions <br />needed. <br />2. Discuss future worksession topics. <br />Background/Discussion <br />On the first Council meeting of each month the City Council reviews the worksession agendas for future <br />meetings. <br />Proposed agendas are as follows: <br />August 10 September 14 <br />^ 2010 Budget <br />Elk River Landfill (if requested) <br />Possible housing projects <br />Continued budget discussion if tax levy is not <br />approved on September 8 <br />As we discussed at the July 20 Council meeting, the Elk River Landfill (ERL) has requested a worksession <br />with the Council prior to the August 17 Council meeting at which time consideration of their application <br />for an expansion is scheduled to continue. (The public hearing on ERL's application was continued to the <br />August 17 meeting.) As you may recall, because of the continued public hearing and concerns about <br />public notice, I was hesitant to schedule a worksession before consulting with City Attorney Peter Beck. <br />The Council concurred and recommended that I report back on August 3. I have consulted with Mr. <br />Beck, and we recommend that the Council delay the worksession until after the August 17 continued <br />public hearing so that the public can be given notice of the worksession. This would allow the time and <br />date of the worksession to be announced at the meeting on August 17.
