Mr. Steve Ach
September 13, 1996
Page Three

watermain through their development to the southeast corner. They do show
watermain to that point, but it is not labeled as to size.

The saaitary sewer is shown extended to the southern end of the plat but not to
t.he extreme west corner. We would suggest that sanitary sewer ought to be
extended to the southwest corner also.

The watermain is shown brought to the nom~ end of the plat and then easterly
to the intersection, of Holt and 193rd Avenue. As final plans are developed for
this construction, we will review the City's water system to determine if 8-inch
watermain is adequate in this area or if it needs to be oversized. We would
suggest, however, that a hydrant be placed at the extreme east end of this line.
We would suggest that one of the three hydrants located along the single-family
lots on 193rd Avenue could be relocated to this location, preferably, the hydrant
located between Lots 3 and 4.

Again, when final plans are prepared for the utility construction, we will
determine whether or not the City should request that the sanitary sewer
extended to the north side of the plat be kept at a slightly deeper elevation for
potential extension to other unsewered areas.

5. It is my understanding that the Fire Chief has reviewed the hydrant spacing and
has concurred with it as shown.

6. No valves axe shown on the layout; therefore, valve placement will be reviewed
when the detai~ed construction plans are prepared.

If you have any questions regarding these comments, please call.

Sincerely,

MSA, CONSULTING ENGINEERS

TIM:tw

230/261-1303.sep

TOT~L P.04
