New street liqhts advisory <br /> <br />Mr. Sundeen presented to the Commission a report on the <br />history and present policy in street lighting, along with <br />alternatives. After a discussion of aesthetics and costs <br />involved, Mr. Adams and Mr. Sundeen were directed to <br />present to the Commission at a later date, three options <br />for reviewal. Staff was also directed to not use any more <br />concrete based poles in residential areas at this time. <br /> <br />7. Liqhtinq co=m~ittee proposal <br /> <br />Mr. Zabee moved to approve the placement of the 15 <br />additional street lights recommended by the "Lighting <br />Committee" Mr. Dietz seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried 3-0. <br /> <br />8. Concern of a customer reqard~q street liqht~nq <br /> <br />Mr. Sundeen presented a request by a customer to have <br />the Utilities take over the security lights located <br />mid-block on Albany, as street lights. <br /> <br />Mr. Dietz moved to deny the request. <br />the request. Consideration of Public Power Week <br /> <br />Ms Hemza reported to the Commission the information <br />and history of Public Power Week, along with possibilities <br />for participating. <br /> <br />Mr. Zabee moved to request the Mayor to proclaim the week <br />of October 6-12, 1996, Public Power Week and to publicize <br />it. Mr. Dietz seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />Siqns for the Elk River Municipal Utilities office building <br /> <br />Discussion on the lack of identification of the office <br />building took place, with acknowledgement that the building <br />should be more visible. Staff was directed to get quotes <br />and ideas for signage. Mr. Sundeen is to find out the <br />correct sizes that may be used. Mr. Dietz suggested staff <br />check with the Chamber of Commerce for sign contractors. <br /> <br />11. <br /> <br />Administrative vehicle <br /> <br />Mr. Sundeen reported that smaller size two-wheel drive <br />pick-ups, such as S-10's or Rangers are unavailable at <br />this time.
