Rum River Health Services ~ History <br />Kum River <br />Health Services <br />Creating a healthy community, arse family at a time <br />HOME OUR PROGRAMS WHO WE ARE CONTACT US <br />History of RRHS <br />Rum River Health Services, Inc. (RRHS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit located in <br />Princeton, Minnesota. The mission of RRHS is "to identify and respond to <br />community health needs as an advocate, as a catalyst for community <br />collaboration, and as a provider of needed services." The agency conducts <br />periodic health needs assessments, advocates for needed programs, and <br />directly provides programs when appropriate. The agency secures funding and <br />administers programs in accordance with its articles of incorporation and by- <br />laws at the direction of its governing board. <br />RRHS maintains a focus on barriers to health-related quality of life issues in its <br />area. When identified needs can be met by other agencies or organizations, <br />Rum River Health Services advocates for transition and change that will improve <br />availability, access and affordability for the population groups served. It <br />recognizes the evolutionary changes characteristic of the healthcare industry, <br />and is poised to grow and serve changing community needs. <br />Current programs under management: <br />• Rum River Women's Health Project (1986) - a subsidized family planning <br />program <br />• Rum River Recovery Alliance (1998) - a case management program for <br />substance abusing pregnant and parenting women <br />• Project SOAR (Safe Opportunities, Alternatives and Resources) (1999) - a <br />community-based substance abuse prevention/youth development program <br />that provides student assistance in area schools <br />• Belle Haven Townhomes -provides permanent supportive housing for people <br />impacted by homelessness and other challenges as a result of their addiction <br />(s). <br />• Rum River Recovery Plus (1999) -chemical dependency outpatient treatment <br />as well as evening outpatient and women's day treatment programs <br />• CARE -cardiac wellness program supported in part by an endowment from <br />the Olga Chalstrum Estate and a grant from the Medtronic Foundation <br />Independent programs <br />• Rum River Area Hospice (1993-1996) <br />• A volunteer caregivers program (1995-1997) <br />© 2007 Rum River Health Services <br />• Our Programs <br />• History of RRHS <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />209 Sixth Avenue South, Princeton, MN 55371 <br />800.964.8524 or 763.389.5080 <br />http://www.rumriverhs.org/rrhs_history.html 5/27/2009 <br />
