~iCer Ci ~ax± ~ !~
Questions to Assessor:
Why property valuations dropped 8% to 9% for some taxpayers while our valuation dropped
only .003%? The last home improvement was the porch built in 1991.
Answer: Well you put new windows in-you had a screen porch.
My answer: No, all windows and doors were installed in 1991 - 18 years ago-during initial
construction.
Assessor: You have brick on front of house.
My answer: Yes, we had that done in 1985 and also installed replacement windows.
Assessor: You have two fireplaces.
My answer: Yes, they have been there since we built the house in 1959. We only have one now
because the metal heatilator rusted out and I had to brick the opening shut.
Assessor: You have a new air conditioner.
My Answer: It was installed in 1987.
Assessor: You have a new roof.
My answer: I had to remove two layers of shingles and replace with new shingles about 4 years
ago. I also had to replace the soffit as it was deteriorating.
Assessor: Your house was never appraised high enough
I think it has been equal or higher than any home in the area. Many of the people in the area
have also replaced shingles, but their valuations still went down.
Thank you,
Ben Kratzke
1707 5`h St. NW
Elk River, MN
763-441-1244
