The picture on the left is of the most seriously corroded structural member discovered <br />and the reason for my recommendation for further investigation. It is a roof purlin near <br />to where it bears on a roof girder. Although the corrosion had not scaled or expanded the <br />steel it is severe enough to warrant further investigation. The discoloration on the beam <br />noted in the picture on the right and pictures below is the only evidence of the corroded <br />purlin and this evidence is throughout the west half of the building. <br />Again these pictures show a slight discoloration that could be indicative a corroded <br />structural steel. <br />
