/~
Elk River
Municip al Utilitie s
13069 Orono Parkway
Elk River, MN 55330
August 8, 2006
To: Elk River Municipal Utilities Commission
Jerry Takle
John Dietz
Jim Tralle
From: Bryan Adams
phone: 763.441.2020
Fax: 763.941.8099
Subject: Co Rd 42 & Great River Centre Cable Installation Bid Tabulation
At the July 11, 2006 ERMUC meeting, the upcoming Co Rd 42 & Great River Centre electric
cable installation projects were discussed. Great River Centre is the new Otsego commercial
development that will house Super Target and associated businesses. Per our policy, the
developer, Terra Development Inc will pay half of the costs to provide the electrical systems to
this development. Attached is a drawing reflecting this development and electrical system.
Co Rd 42 in Otsego is also being rebuilt to accommodate Great River Centre development.
This will necessitate replacing the existing over head line with an underground line. This will
also tie into the underground electric line we just completed to accommodate the HW 101 &
Co Rd 42 intersection.
Attached is the bid tabulation for both projects. We received very competitive bids for our
estimates were both above $50,000. At the July ERMUC meeting, staff was authorized to
award these projects to the lowest responsive bidder. This authorization was to accommodate
the road contractor and developer's construction schedule.
Staff has awarded both of these projects to MP Nexlevel, the lowest responsive bidder.
