3. In 1997 trunk water main was extended from Jackson St. along Highland Rd. to <br />Proctor. Approximate amount funded is $380,000. This was built to support the <br />Cherrywood Hills and Lafayette Addition while decreasing the reliance on a <br />booster station. <br />With the rebuilding of Highland Rd., the 2006 Feasibility Study is suggesting that Elk <br />River Municipal Utilities pay $95,000 to install values and services for future <br />connections. See the attached drawing. This would alleviate digging up Highland Rd. in <br />the future if people decide to connect to the water system. The benefit of doing this water <br />main work is questionable. If the city proceeds with the sanitary portion of the project, I <br />would recommend we proceed with the water project. The City Counsel recently <br />discussed this issue. John Dietz will apprise us of the decision at our meeting. This is a <br />non budgeted item. <br />
