Recreation Manager's Report -Bill Maertz <br />Director of Parks and Recreation, Bill Maertz shared that staff would be submitting a <br />grant application by February 28s' to put a trail in from downtown Elk River to <br />Babcock Park. <br />Mr. Maertz shared that there will be a special marketing piece for Pinewood to <br />promote all of its opportunities to area businesses. <br />Mr. Maertz stated what programs were currently being offered. <br />7. Director's Report -Bill Maertz <br />Director of Parks and Recreation, Bill Maertz shared the current Park Dedication <br />Fund balance and updated revenue forecasts. <br />8.1. Community Events -Update on Riverfront Music Series <br />• <br />Recreation Coordinator, Ross Demant shared that there will be a concert series held <br />on Thursday evenings at the Rivers Edge Commons Downtown. Park. <br />8.2.A Land Use Cases -Simple Plat - P07-03 <br />Chris Leeseberg, Planner/Park Planner presented information regarding a request to <br />expand a business. The applicant wished to plat an Outlot from an existing plat to <br />combine it with their property. <br />MOVED BY COMMISSIONER NIZIOLEK AND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER PAIGE TO RECOMMEND ACCEPTING PARK <br />DEDICATION CASH AT THE RATE APPLICABLE AT THE TIME OF <br />FINAL PLAT APPROVAL, AND THAT A 10-FOOT TRAIL EASEMENT <br />ALONG THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF JARVIS STREET, AS IT ADJOINS <br />THE SUBJECT PLAT, SHALL BE RECORDED. MOTION CARRIED 5- <br />0. <br />8.3.A. Policy Issues - Taste of Elk River <br />Director of Parks and Recreation, Bill Maertz presented information regarding a <br />request by the Elk River Rotary Club to use Lions Park and Lions Park Center for <br />their 2"d annual Taste of Elk River event. The Elk River Rotary Club is requesting <br />that the rental fees for major use of the park be waived for this event. Staff <br />recommends approving the event with the following fees; use of the facility would • <br />be $100 refundable deposit, $75 building security fee, $160 extra portable toilet fees <br />
