Park & Recreation Commission Minutes <br />December 12, 2007 <br />Page 2 <br />connecting several trails to connect developments on the east side to the commuter ~_ <br />rail station, Ice Arena, Activity Center, Orono Park and more YAC improvements. <br />5.2. Discuss Potential Funding Mechanisms <br />Director of Parks and Recreation, Bill Maertz shared several options for financing a <br />referendum. Commission members discussed which improvements would benefit <br />the majority of Elk River residents and how to get the information out to the public. <br />Commissioner Larson stated that she supported the park improvement ideas as long <br />there were a couple funding options for the City Council to choose from such as, a <br />referendum or using the general fund. <br />MOVED BY COMMISSIONER NYSTROM AND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER PAIGE TO RECOMMEND TO CITY COUNCIL A $6.6 <br />MILLION REFERENDUM INCLUSIVE OF ALL PROJECTS AS EARLY <br />AS POSSIBLE. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />6.
