However, we have now reached the point where the costs we are absorbing
require a rate adjustment so that we can continue to provide the high level of service and reliable
electricity our customers expect. These adjustments are something we only consider when we
absolutely must," says Connexus Energy CEO, Rick Newland.
Effective April, a typical
residential customer who uses
750 kWh of electricity per
month can expect to pay
approximately four dollars more
on their monthly bill. Also in
April, the Power Cost
Adjustment (PCA) will be
reduced to zero. The PCA was
implemented several years ago
when wholesale power prices
began to fluctuate.
Why do wholesale power prices
continue to climb? It's a
combination of the growing
demand for electricity and the
need for new generation and
transmission Facilities. We've done this by reducing costs in every area
of our operations."
Newland adds that Connexus Energy's rates remain comparable to, if not lower than,
surrounding utilities. "We believe that reliable electricity at a reasonable price is something you
can count on and that we deliver on a daily basis."
Gopher State Oae tall
` In Minneapol'a area, 651.454.0002
Outside metro area, 1.800:252.1166 `
0306-R
