./j
Elk River
Municipal Utilities
13069 Orono Parkway
Elk River, MN 55330
February 9, 2005
To: Elk River Municipal Utilities Commission
Jerry Takle
John Dietz
Jim Tralle
From: Bryan Adams
Subject: Miscellaneous Issues
phone: 763.441.2020
Fax: 763.441.8099
Enclosed is the packet for the Tuesday, February 14th, 2006 commission meeting at
4:OOpm.
Congratulations to Jerry Takle for being reappointed to this commission for another 3
year term.
Kristin Thomas from the City will be attending our meeting to take pictures for the
annual report.
APPA's Congressional Rally in Washington D.C. is February 25 -March 1 2006. Jerry
Talke and myself will be attending unless this commission desires otherwise. Also the
MMUA legislative conference and winter conference is March 29 - 31 2006 in
Bloomington, MN. I would again encourage this commission to attend as well.
Attached is an action alert from the league of Minnesota Cities reaction to cities not being
allowed to certify tenants delinquent utility charges (water & wastewater) to landlords or
property owners.
Two other update items are the 4`~' engine at the landfill and Aquifer Storage & Recovery
project. The necessary air permit has been secured from the MPCA for the 4`~' engine. ~
The final hold up is a signed contract from Waste Management. Their attorneys are still
reviewing it. In regard to the Aquifer Storage & Recovery project for well #2, the MN ~ ~
Dept. of Health has approved the project but the USEPA is still reviewing it.
