ANNUAL REPORT ELK RIVER MUNICIPAL UTILITIES <br />ACCOMPLISHMENTS <br />• Make transition with new office manager and payroll/accounts payable <br />personnel <br />• Continue to serve approximately 8500 electric, 4100 water, 4100 waste water, <br />5600 garbage customers, & 362 security customers <br />• Add 436 electric meters, 240 water meters & net 55 security system accounts <br />• Complete first phase of Aquifer Storage & Recovery Study <br />• Initiate contract changes & air emission permits to insta114 engine/generator <br />at landfill <br />• Complete SCADA system for water department and initiate GIS & GPS <br />technologies for electric & water departments. <br />• Repair & paint Hillside Water Tower <br />• Continue rebuilding and upgrading electrical distribution system including, <br />continue construction of new feeder from station 14 to Elk Path Business Park <br />rebuild distribution system in the Co Rd 33 Concord area, rebuild distribution <br />system in the Tyler & 147t~' area, expand system in Otsego Waterfront East & <br />West area, expand system in Trott Brook, Twin Lake Estates & Belmont <br />Estates area <br />Start engineering and construction for expanding the west substation bank 1, <br />station 14 substation bank 2, and Otsego substation <br />Furnish 193,696 MWH of electrical energy and 705.7 million gal of water for <br />an increase of 9.6% & 8.4% respectively <br />GOALS <br />• Satisfy 2006 budget requirements and complete projects started in 2005 <br />including 3 substations additions & 4 new electrical feeders <br />• Continue to investigate and solve long term physical & financial growth <br />needs <br />• Stay current on electric industry restructuring service territory issue and <br />minimize electric rate increase <br />• Improve on marketing efforts in security systems sales, Conservation <br />Improvement Programs, & water conservation programs <br />• Continue to support Energy City Activities <br />
