RESOLUTION <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ELK RIVER <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br />CENTRAL MINNESOTA MUNICIPAL POWER AGENCY AND BROOKINGS-TWIN <br />CITIES PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, it was previously determined that it was in the best interest of the City <br />of EIk River (City) to utilize the resources and services of the Central Minnesota Municipal <br />Power Agency (CMMPA) to participate in the development and investment in the <br />acquisition, construction, ownership, and operation of high voltage transmission of electrical <br />energy and capacity, negotiation of contracts, planning, including transmission needs studies, <br />transmission arrangements, engineering and technical assistance; and <br />WHEREAS, the City now wishes to properly update and supplement its relationship <br />with CMMPA and also authorize the City's participation in the Brookings -Twin Cities <br />High Voltage Transmission Line project; and <br />WHEREAS, he City does hereby approve the Brookings-Twin Cities Project <br />Development Agreement with the Central Minnesota Municipal Power Agency and its <br />participation in the project identified above and the financing thereof, if any. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the CMMPA Brookings-Twin Cities <br />Project Development Agreement is hereby approved in the form presented at this meeting. <br />The Mayor and are hereby authorized and directed to execute <br />such Project Development Agreement for and on behalf of the City, the same to be <br />exclusively evidenced by such execution. <br />Passed and adopted this 20`h day of February 2007. <br />Stephanie Klinzing, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Tina Allard, City Clerk <br />C:\Documents and Settings\Ijohnson.F_.LKRIVERPD\Local Settings\'femporary Internet Files\OI,K45\CMMPA.doc <br />
