The library's ability to fund these additional hours <br />and materials should be viewed in terms regional <br />library support. County support is crucial to the <br />budget process. Not only Sherburne county, but Todd, <br />Morrison, Stearns, Benton and Wright counties provide <br />the bulk of the dollars necessary to operate the <br />system. Federal and State support make up about 20~ of <br />the library"s budget. The maintenance of this income is <br />also crucial to meet the increasing service demands <br />placed on the system. If any of these funding sources <br />are ,jeopardized, or, if the budget cannot adequately <br />grow to meet demand, the ability of the library to <br />-~~~.:-.,-__provide more• hours~snd.:more materials to all of its <br />libraries will also be 3eopardized. <br />GRRL always appreciates a community's initiative in <br />enhancing its library services. It is our hope that <br />state, local and federal funding sources will respond <br />positively to that local initiative and that funding <br />will be available to meet the anticipated personnel <br />and materials expenditures.
