PROBABLE CONSTRUCTION COSTS
The following estimates of probable constriction costs were developed for the
building outlined in the Space Allocation Program. These costs were assembled
through a comparative analysis of a other libraries, the "Architects, Contractors Sc
Engineers Guide to Construction Costs", and the "Means Building Construction Cost
Data 1992". Since the base estimates were developed using 1992 figures, a 2.5%
annual inflation rate was added to project the expected costs of constriction in
future years.
Remodel existing facility.
5,690 sq. ft. ®$38-42/sq.ft.-
(work expected to be included are
items such as: carpet replacement;
accessibility improvements; heating and
air conditioning maintenance; painting
and wallcovering; relocation of shelving;
rest room upgrades; enlargement of
circulation desk; etc.)
Constrict addition.
4,400 sq. ft.. ®$95-105/sq.ft.-
Fees.
Architectural, engineering,
permits, testing, etc. -
Furniture, Fixtures, & equipment -
Project contingency.
5-7% -
Totals
* See Eos Architecture memo dated 6-23-92 attached.
$182,000-239,000
$418,000-462,000
$55,000-65,000
$50,000-70,000
$6.000-58,000
$740,000-894,000
32
