It was the intent of Governor Amc Carlson and the Minnesota Legislature in <br />passing this Act to provide up to $75,000 to cover the costs associated with the employment ora <br />new officer or deputy for three years. On the basis of your application, we believe you will meet <br />this intent. <br /> <br />Within the next two weeks you should receive the actual contract between the State of Minnesota <br />and your jurisdiction. Upon this office receiving the appropriately signed contract, the funds will <br />be disbursed. <br /> <br />Later this year you will be required to provide the Department of Public Safety with data <br />describing how the funds were used and if you achieved the goals denoted in your grant <br />application. It is our intention to use this documentation to seek similar funding during the 1997 <br />Legislative Session. <br /> <br />Congratulations on being selected.
