1. Invent a product or service idea that saves energy or resources. <br />You must submit your invention to by 2008. The contest is open to <br />students in the 11~' grade during the 2007 - 2008 school year at Spectrum Charter School <br />in Elk River, Minnesota. <br />All inventions submitted to the Elk River Energy Expo Invention Contest will be created <br />by a team of two students and accompanied by the following information: <br />Release and Agreement (WE NEED TO CRAFT THIS STILL) <br />Elk River Energy Commission retains limited usage rights usage to all inventions <br />submitted---to display them during the Expo Event and on the Energy City <br />website and to film them for city cable channels across the state. <br />Inventors' names, name of product or service and a complete description of that <br />product or service should be written on one side of an 8 '/z x 11 sheet of paper. <br />Because of display space constraints, inventions will be limited in size so that no <br />dimension, height, width or depth, will measure over 5 feet. <br />Extra credits will be given to inventions that utilize recycled components. <br />Additional consideration will be given for the "craft" of the invention. The submission <br />should look clean and neat and should be presentable to a "consumer" just like a product <br />you would find in a retail store. <br />Marketing materials that accompany the invention should also be designed and presented <br />in a way that makes the invention easy for a consumer to understand. Features and <br />benefits of the project should be clearly communicated. <br />The budget for each invention should not exceed $ dollars. <br />2. PARAMETERS -How does your invention save energy or <br />resources? <br />The "Elk River Energy Expo Invention Contest" showcases the ideas and inventions of <br />entrants in regards to energy or resource-saving products or services <br />In addition to the invention, students are encouraged to include marketing materials that <br />are designed to clearly present their ideas to the public and show the features and benefits <br />of their submission. <br />Both the invention and the marketing materials will be considered in the judging. <br />
