The Contractor must present a preservation plan based on excavation results for <br />21 SH0051 and the potential aceramic site. The contractor must perform GPS or other <br />survey of existing sawmill foundations and associated structures at 21 SH0051 and nearby <br />21 SH0053 and submit the data in GIS format. <br />All work on this project must be in conformance with the following: <br />• The Secretary of the Interior's Standards and Guidelines for Archaeology and <br />Historic Preservation, particularly the Standards for Identification, Evaluation, <br />and Registration published in the Federal Register of September 29, 1983. <br />• National Register Bulletins 16A and 16B, other applicable bulletins, and the <br />Minnesota SHPO Supplemental Instructions for the Preparation of the National <br />Register Form. <br />• SHPO Manual for Archaeological Projects in Minnesota (June 2001) <br />A contractor will be selected based on the appropriateness of the submitted research <br />design, ability to coordinate with educational institutions in regards to public education <br />on the project's findings, knowledge of Elk River's archaeological resources and how <br />well it addresses the issues outlined in the RFP. <br />By Apri122, 2005, contractors should submit three copies of their proposals to: <br />Steven Rohlf <br />City of Elk River <br />13065 Orono Parkway <br />Elk River, MN 55330 <br />(763) 635-1061 <br />Fax: (763) 635-1090 <br />srohlf@ci.elk-river.mn.us <br />
