ver
MEMORANDUM
TO: Heritage Preservation Commission
FROM: Stephen Rohlf, Building and Environmental Administrator
DATE: April 14, 2005
SUBJECT: Items on the April 26, 2005 Planning Commission Agenda
5.1-Conditional Use Permit for Elementary School - (CU OS-08). The Apri126, 2005
Planning Commission agenda and a map showing the location of the one request is
attached. The request is for a Conditional Use Permit to construct an elementary school.
The City's Archaeological Modeling shows the proposed school location as having low
to moderate potential of containing an archaeological site. The State Historical Society
Office's (SHPO) list of known archaeological sites was also referenced and no conflicts
with any known cultural, historical or archaeological resources exist.
Staff recommends the standard condition listed below is placed on this request.
Standard Condition:
"Any item or condition found that indicates the site is likely to yield information
important to prehistory or history shall be reported to the city immediately.
Further, the city reserves the right to stop work authorized in its approval until the
site is appropriately investigated and work is authorized to continue by the city."
