Discuss Literature Search and Archaeolo<>ical hlodelin~ Grant <br />Commissioner Kragness informed the group that Dr. Rothaus and Jason Haug had been <br />working at the Sherburne Countv Historical Society, compiling information for the report. <br />The Camp Cozy area should also be studied. <br />Discuss ?004 SHPO Grant Possibilities <br />Stephen Rohlf informed the group that the he had spokenwith Scott Alfinson, SHPO about <br />the direction the group should take in ?004. It was decided that continuing on the Literature <br />Search and Archeological Modeling with St. Cloud State University is the best direction to <br />go. City staff filled out the grant application and submitted it. <br />MOVED BY COMMISSIONER LUNDBERG AND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER LINDBERG TO APPROVE THE 2004 SHPO GRANT. <br />MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br />Discuss hosting a Preservation Week Event. <br />The group discussed hosting a Preservation ~X~eek from May 3 to May 8. Dr. Rothaus would <br />be willing to come in and talk. It was suggested that a press release be placed in the paper. <br />It was also discussed that people be asked to bring in old photographs of the downtown area <br />and possibly bring in experts to inform people of what their stone tools and/or antiques are <br />worth. <br />%a. Election of Officers <br />MOVED BY COMMISSIONER DWYER AND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER GONGOLL TO NOMINATE COMMISSIONER OLSON FOR <br />THE 2004 HPC CHAIR POSITION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br />8. March 11 Agenda <br />The Commission decided to place the following items on the 3/11/04 agenda: hosting a <br />Preservation Week event, Literature Search and Archaeological Modeling Grant, Planning <br />Commission Update, February minutes and a Treasurer's Report. <br />Adjournment <br />There being no further business, the meeting of the Elk River HPC was adjourned at 8:00 <br />p.m. <br />Submitted by, <br />Rebecca Haug <br />
