The following is a summary of the agenda items
and their potential to conflict with any known cultural, historical or archaeological
resources:
5.1 -Elk River Landfill (CU 04-01) -This request is a gene«~al of a Solid Waste Facility
License for the Elk River Landfill. The property involved has been previously excavated
for gravel and has little potential to conflict with cultural or historic resources, none of
which have been identified in this area. However, the Landfill is proposing an expansion
in the near future and conditions on protecting these types of resources on that request
will be appropriate.
52 - "Dancin on Broadway IP' (CU 04-02) -This request is for an existing building and
does not directly conflict with known SHPO site.
5.3 & 5.4 -Both relate to the Plat of Woodland Hills (ZC 04-01 & P 04-02) -Although
no know archealogical or cultural sites have been identified in this area, this request will
involve a great deal of grading and the "Standard Condition" listed in this memo is
recommended.
3.1 - Shoreland variance (V-04-O1) -There are no known cultural or archaeological sites
identified on a near the property involved in this request, which is to build a house closer
to Lake Orono than setbacks normally allow. The property in question is highg~-ound
fairly close to the original riverbed of the Elk River. which has potential as a prehistoric
caanpsite. Staff reconul~ends the "Standard Condition listed in this memo be applied to
this request.
