fiver
MEMORANDUM
TO: Heritage Preservation Commission
FROM: Rebecca Haug, Environmental Administrator
DATE: January 15, 2009
SUBJECT: Items on the January 12, 2009 Planning Commission Agenda
The item listed below was reviewed at the January 12, 2009 Planning Commission meeting
for recommendation to the City Council. The staff report indicated that the HPC had not
reviewed the request so any comments from the HPC would go to the City Council on
January 20, 2009.
The following is a summary of the agenda items and their potential to conflict with any
known or potential cultural, historical or archaeological resources:
5.1 -Request by Fred McCoy (McCoy's Pub) for Conditional Use Permit for patio
addition in the Downtown District - (CU 08-24) - No known SHPO site on the affected
property and the city's archaeological model shows low potential for an archaeological
site. Staff recommends the standard condition listed below is placed on this request.
Standard Condition:
"Any item or condition found that indicates the site is likely to yield information
important to prehistory or history shall be reported to the city immediately.
Further, the city reserves the right to stop work authorized in its approval until the
site is appropriately investigated and work is authorized to continue by the city."
Staff also recommends language regarding the proposed building finishes. Please
see the attached staff report that was provided to the Planning Commission. I will
provide a summary of what transpires at the Planning Commission meeting regarding this
item.
