THE MOTION CARRIED 3-2. <br />Mayor Duitsman and Councilmember Diefz opposed. <br /> <br />Open Mike <br /> <br />No one appeared for this item. <br /> <br />Diane Bistodeau Request for Conditional Use Permit for Hair Salon, Public <br /> <br />Headn.q Case No. CU 96-4 <br /> <br />Zoning Assistant Kendra Lindahl indicated that Diane Bistodeau is requesting a <br />conditional use permit to operate a hair salon out of her home, located at <br />20806 York Street NW. <br /> <br />Mayor Duitsman opened the public hearing. There being no one for or against <br />the matter, Mayor Duitsman closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />Councilmember Scheel indicated her concern about the city's regulation of <br />only allowing a 2 x 2 foot sign to advertise the business in a residential area. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHEEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR <br />DIANE BISTODEAU TO OPERATE A HAIR SALON OUT OF HER HOME AT 20806 YORK <br />STREET NW WITH THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: <br /> <br />HOURS OF OPERATION BE FROM 7 A.M. TO 10 P.M. AS PER CITY CODE. <br /> <br />NO EXTERIOR STORAGE RELATED TO THIS BUSINESS SHALL BE ALLOWED. <br /> <br />SIGNAGE WILL BE LIMITED TO TWO SQUARE FEET AND MOUNTED FLAT ON <br />THE WALL OF THE DWELLING. <br /> <br />A MAXIMUM OF ONE FULL TIME EMPLOYEE OR EQUIVALENT, OTHER THAN <br />THOSE PERSONS WHO CUSTOMARILY RESIDE ON THE PREMISES, SHALL BE <br />EMPLOYED. <br /> <br />IF VALID COMPLAINTS ARE RECEIVED, THIS ITEM WILL BE BROUGHT BACK <br />BEFORE THE PLANNING COMMISSION AND CITY COUNCIL FOR REVIEW. <br /> <br />THE APPLICANT WILL MEET WITH THE BUILDING INSPECTION DEPARTMENT TO <br />ENSURE THAT ALL APPROPRIATE CODES ARE MET. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION.
