(c) Accessory uses. Accessory uses in the C-3 district are as follows: <br />(1~ Temporary Signs as permitted in section 30-851 et seq. <br />(2) Permanent signs. <br />a. All signs as permitted in [subsection (d)(1)) of this section. <br />b. One permanent area identification sign per neighborhood, subdivision, or development, not to <br />exceed 64 square feet in sign area. The area identification sign shall be located on the same premise <br />as the development it identifies. <br />c. One freestanding business sign per premise, not to exceed one square foot in sign area for each <br />linear foot of street frontage with the following stipulations: <br />TABLE INSET: <br />Speed <br />Limit 1 Maximum <br />Height 2 Maximum Sq. <br />Footage 3 Increase for Multiple <br />Tenants 4 Maximum Sq. <br />Footage 5 <br />30 mph 20 ft. 64 sq. ft. 20 sq. ft. 104 sq. ft. <br />30 mph 30 ft. 110 sq. ft. 20 sq. ft. 160 sq. ft. <br />55 mph or 35 ft. 150 sq. ft. 20 sq. ft. 210 sq. ft. <br />i rsased on speed of adjacent highway <br />2 Not limited by height of building <br />3 Single tenant <br />4 For each tenant beyond the first <br />5 Multiple tenants <br />Freestanding signs shall have a minimum setback of ten feet from any public right-of--way measured <br />to any portion of the sign, and a minimum clearance of eight feet over any vehicular use area and any <br />pedestrian use area. Where a lot has in excess of 300 feet of street frontage, one additional <br />freestanding business sign will be allowed per premise. These signs shall be subject to the size and <br />height limitations of the first allowed freestanding sign and may be placed no closer than 150 feet to <br />any other freestanding sign on the same premise. All freestanding signs shall have a minimum <br />setback of ten feet from any public right-of--way measured to any portion of the sign and a minimum <br />clearance of eight feet above any vehicular use area and over any pedestrian use area. <br />d. Businesses shall be allowed a maximum of three on premise business wall signs per occupanry. <br />The maximum combined sign area per building shall not exceed two square feet per linear foot of <br />building frontage, up to a maximum accumulation of 300 square feet per occupancy. Businesses shall <br />be allowed at least 50 square feet of wall signage regardless of building dimensions. <br />e. Incidental signs, not to exceed one square foot in aggregate sign area per occupancy are permitted <br />on premise. <br />f. Two on-premise construction signs not to exceed an aggregate of 64 square feet in sign area for <br />each street frontage of a construction project. Such a sign may be erected 30 days prior to beginning <br />of construction and shall be removed 30 days following completion of construction. Such signs must <br />not be illuminated. <br />g. One on-premise menu board per drive-up or walk-up lane of a drive-in restaurant up to a <br />maximum of 32 square feet each. Menu boards are allowed to have a message on one side only and <br />can not contain an advertising message. <br />h. Advertising signs shall only be allowed in the C-3 district subject to the following requirements. <br />1. Off-premises signs are prohibited within 100 feet of the intersection of the highway right-of-way <br />and any other right-of--way or driveway. <br />2. Advertising signs are prohibited within 1,200 feet of another advertising sign on the same side of <br />the right-of--way. <br />3. All advertising signs shall be erected with a single pole or mono-pole structural standard and shall <br />have underground wiring. <br />Page 8 0£ 12 <br />
