Planning Commission Discussion
Planning Commissioners questioned the parking lot of 203 vehicles, with 750 students at maturity. John
Myhre, representing the applicant, noted that much of the demographics are trending toward online
courses. Maximum student population includes online, day, and evening classes.
Commissioners further questioned 19314 improvements and access, and if the road can accommodate
additional traffic. Staff responded that improvements to the 1931/ Evans intersection are planned, and
are expected to be completed at the end of the project. The improvements will include design for a
signal, although the signal is not included in the project.
Public Comment
Michelle Koteles, an adjacent resident, voiced concerns with the lighting (internal building and site) from
the development impacting their house and suggested additional trees on the east of the drive. She also
questioned plans for expansion.
Staff responded that the lighting is regulated by the City Code relative to minimum and maximum light
levels for commercial districts, and that the lighting plan complies with these requirements.
Keith Schupp, representing the applicant, noted that the building is not being designed to accommodate
increased height in response to Ms. Koteles' concerns about expansion.
No other comments were received.
Attachments
• Staff Report to Planning Commission dated November 10, 2008
Action Motion by Second by Vote
Follow Up
S:\PLANNING MAIN\Case Files\CUP\CU 08-21 Winkelman (MSB)\CC staff report 11-17-08.doc
