Larson Excavating, Inc. 2255 12`h St. SE St. Cloud MN 56304 <br />LOCATION OF WORK: TOTAL SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT AMOUNT <br />193`d Ave from Station 68+00 to 72+00 $(505,200.01) <br />This Contract is between the Local Government Entity and Contractor as follows: <br />WHEREAS: This Contract provides for, among other things, construction of a collector <br />roadway and city utilities; and <br />WHEREAS: This Contract further provides for soil corrections by implementation of <br />muck excavation, steel sheet piling, select granular backfill; and <br />WHEREAS: The City of Elk River is interested in the best value involved in <br />construction; and <br />WHEREAS: Additional temporary easement has been obtained to expand the work <br />area; and <br />WHEREAS: Soil corrections can be completed within the additional easements without <br />use of steel sheet piling; and <br />WHEREAS: The Engineer has determined that steel sheet piling should be deleted <br />from the contract and replaced by additional muck excavation, dewatering, <br />backfill, wetland topsoil salvage and replacement; and <br />WHEREAS: The Engineer has further determined that this constitutes Changed <br />Design. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS MUTUALLY AGREED AND UNDERSTOOD THAT: <br />1. The Contractor will Between stations 68+00 and 72+00 expand the width of the <br />muck excavation to provide 1:1 (H:V) down from the ROW to the bottom of muck <br />elevation and 1:1 (H:V) up to match existing ground. The excavated area within <br />the 1:1 (H:V) down slope shall be backfilled with select granular backfill. The <br />area outside of the 1:1 (H:V) down slope can be filled with any excess common <br />excavation material or excess muck excavation. The top 12 inches of wetland <br />area soil shall be salvaged and respread in wetland areas to restore the wetland <br />to the original elevation. The contractor shall dewater as needed to complete the <br />excavation and backfill. <br />2. Payment for this work will be at the Contract Unit Prices and Negotiated Unit <br />Price as provided in Mn/DOT Specification 1904. <br />
