From 10:00 a.m. to noon the trees will be available to all other Elk River
residents on a first-come-first-serve basis. Limit of two trees.

Geobase Computer S. wtem

Staff has been working hard at getting the Geobase computer system up and
running. The Building and Zoning department has been using the system to
issue their building permits. Other staff members have also been using the
system to gather information.

For example, I get 5 - 15 phone calls a day from realtors or residents wanting
to know the zoning, PID number, legal description, address or setbacks on a
property. Now, instead of having to dig through the card file, maps and the
county books, I can punch it up on the computer screen and have all of the
information in front of me. Stephen Rohlf and I have are completing data
entry and all of the staff members are working on getting the remaining
kinks out of the system. We believe the addition of this program will allow
staff to better serve residents in a timely and efficient manner.

Council Action

No action is required on this item.

S:\PLANNING\KENDRA\CCUPDATE.DOC
