The total wall sign square footage is 509.4 square feet. The ordinance allows up to 300 square feet; however, since the project is a planned unit development, the Council has the latitude to vary from the ordinance requirements. This variance from the ordinance can be either more or less restrictive. One issue staff has noticed since the Planning Commission meeting is the product signs on the building are not individual lite letters. These signs resemble a cabinet sign where the letters are not individually mounted; rather made part of a panel that has a white background. To be consistent with other planned unit developments as well as recent commercial projects, staff would recommend the proposed product signs be individual lite letters.
