Irrigation: <br />A. Polyvinyl-Chloride Pipe (PVC): <br />1. Pipe shall be polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe (Class 160) with a minimum working pressure of 160 <br />psi. PVC pipe shall be continuously and permanently marked with manufacturer's name, material, <br />and schedule or type. <br />2. Pipe shall meet the requirements of ASTM D2241 and D2672, latest revision. Materials shall <br />meet the requirements of ASTM D1784, latest revision. <br />B. Pipe Fittings for PVC Pipe: Pipe fittings for 3" diameter and less shall be constructed of Schedule 40 PVC <br />and shall be joined to pipe by solvent welding. <br />C. Swing Joint Assemblies: Swing joints shall be Spears preassembled PVC swing join or approved equal. <br />D. Sleeving: Sleeving shall be PVC pipe sized to accommodate irrigation pipe and control wire. <br />E. Electric Remote Control Valves: Valves used in the electrically controlled automatic system shall be Hunter <br />ICV Series, as noted on the Drawings. Valves shall be sized as shown and noted on the Drawings and shall <br />be installed in valve boxes of appropriate size and type as described under valve boxes. <br />1. 1-1/2" Globe Valve, with Filter Sentry and Accu-set, pressure regulator: Hunter ICV-151 G- FS-AS. <br />F. Valve Boxes for Electric Remote Control Valves: Valve boxes shall be plastic as manufactured by Carson <br />and shall be minimum 12 inches or jumbo size with locking lid. Valve box shall be of a size that provides <br />adequate space for valve repairs. Valve boxes shall be place on a bed of gravel sized 6 inches larger than <br />box perimeter with a depth not less than 12 inches. Gravel must be placed prior to the placement of the <br />valve box. <br />A. Heads: <br />1. Sprinkler heads shall be the following series as manufactured by the Hunter Company or approved <br />equal <br />2. Type and location of heads are keyed and shown on the Drawings. Nozzles shall be selected <br />based on providing head to head coverage and spacing as shown on the drawings. <br />a. Rotors: <br />1) Hunter I-20 Ultra Rotor, adjustable with check valve and stainless steel riser: I- <br />20-ADS-3.0 <br />2) Hunter I-20 Ultra Rotor, low-angle nozzle, adjustable with check valve and <br />stainless steel riser: I-20-ADS-3.5 LA <br />b. Sprays: <br />1) Hunter Institutional Spray including factory installed pressure regulator, <br />adjustable with drain check valve. Refer to plan spacing for nozzles. Heads <br />against building shall be 0° trajectory. <br />Sodding: <br />A. Sod: Sod shall be in accordance with Mn/DOT 3878, and shall be as follows: <br />1. Class of Sod: Sod shall be nursery grown, cultured sod planted on cultivated agricultural land and <br />grown specifically for sod purposes. Sod shall have been mowed regularly and carefully and <br />otherwise maintained from planting to harvest to maintain reasonable quality and uniformity. <br />2. Composition: Sod shall be composed of not less than 60 percent Kentucky Bluegrass. <br />3. Mowing Height: Before stripping, sod shall be mowed uniformly at a height of 1 inch to 2 % inches. <br />4. Thatch: Sod shall be relatively free of thatch, up to '/z-inch allowable (uncompressed). <br />5. Diseases, Nematodes, and Insects: Sod shall be reasonably free of diseases, nematodes, and <br />soil-borne insects. <br />6. Weeds: Sod shall be free of objectionable grassy and broad leaf weeds. <br />
