Memo to Mayor and City Council
June 19, 1995
Analysis
Page 2
• For the City Council's information, during the twelve month moratorium,
staff has received a handful of inquires from property owners interested in
subdividing their property within the area subject to the moratorium. One
property owner within the past year was interested enough to pursue an
exemption from the moratorium allowing a subdivision of their land. This
request was a logical exemption and presented no major conflicts with the
intent or purpose of the moratorium. Besides this one exception, there does
not appear to be an immediate desire from property owners in this subject
area to proceed with subdivisions. Therefore, the additional six-month period
should not be in conflict with any pending developments.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached resolution
granting asix-month extension to an ordinance establishing a moratorium on
the subdivisions of land outside the City's current urban service area.
C~
•
s:council:morator
