The sign will be similar to the west entrance sign by Lake
Orono. In order for this to be allowed, an ordinance amendment is needed. The City Attorney has
drafted the attached text.
Planning Commission Discussion
It was questioned is the signs would be allowed in road right-of--ways and if there was a size limit. Staff
clarified that they would have to be located on city or private property and that there was no size
limitations. Signs will not be allowed in any road right-of--ways.
The Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of the language.
Public Comment
There was no public comment.
Attachments
• Staff Report to Planning Commission dated October 14, 2008
• Ordinance
Action Motion by Second by Vote
Follow Up
S:\PLANNING MAIN\Case Files\OA\OA 08-08 City Entrance signs\OA 08-08_CC.doc
