REQUEST FOR ACTION <br />To Item Number <br />Mayor and Ci ~ Council 3.11. <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Consent October 6, 2008 Lori ohnson, Ci Administrator <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Authorize Attendance at International Association of Chiefs of <br />Police Conference to Accept an iXP Excellence in Technology Reviewed by <br />Award <br />Action Requested <br />Approve Police Chief Beahen's attendance at the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) <br />conference in San Diego in November to accept an iXP Excellence in Technology award from the IACP <br />to the Elk River Police department for the department's paperless implementation project. <br />Background/Discussion <br />The Elk River Police Department will receive the iXP Excellence in Technology award at the IACP <br />conference. Chief Beahen had not planned to attend, but given that the department is receiving an <br />award, the IACP has requested that a representative of the department attend to accept the award at the <br />ceremony.
