(MIGHTY DUCI~) <br /> <br />Enclosed you will find a copy of the new Request for Proposal (RFP) for the potential next round <br />of grants. - ' <br /> <br />This RFP was publish.ed in the March 4 issue of the "State Register". The RFP is contingent <br />upon positive action by the 1996 Legislature. At the time of this mailing, it remains uncertain.. · <br />what the legislature will determine. <br /> <br /> Assuming there is a program and in order to assist communities who are ready to' construct in <br /> 1996, we have established an April 5, 1996 deadline. The Minnesota Amateur ~ports <br /> <br />· Commission (MA. SC) may act as early as April 22, 1996 on some applicants. Correspondingly, <br /> we have an October 5, 1996 deadline for those communities interested in constructing in 1997. <br /> The MASC would act as early as December 16, 1996 on those respective applicants.. <br /> <br />Please note that the new RFP significantly simplifies the format'required for renovation grants. <br />· Also, to the extent possible and practical, the MASC will again use congressional districts as a <br />general guideline to award grants to achieve geographic equity. <br /> <br />PDE:ll <br />Encl. <br /> <br />An Equal Opportunity Employer <br /> <br /> <br />
