B. New building construction in any zoning district; <br /> <br />Expansion of any existing commercial, industrial or institutional building or <br />impervious surface by ten percent or greater square feet, where an approved <br />tree preservation plan is not on file with the city; or <br /> <br />D. Any project requiring a grading permit. <br /> <br />Subd. 6. Exemption for Existing Single Family Residences. No tree preservation plan is <br />required for single-family residences desiring to remodel or expand existing buildings or grounds. <br /> <br />Subd. 7. Application. An application for a tree preservation permit must be made in writing to <br />the Natural Resources Director on a form provided by the City. For undeveloped single-family <br />lots with existing significant trees or woodlands, a Tree Preservation Plan shall be submitted for <br />review by City staff in conjunction with a building permit application. For other developments, the <br />application for a tree preservation permit must be submitted along with the application for <br />preliminary plat. <br /> <br />Subd. 8. Submission Requirements. An application for a tree preservation permit must include <br />the following information: <br /> <br />Delineation of the buildings, structures, or impervious surfaces situated thereon <br />or contemplated to be built thereon; <br /> <br />B. Delineation of all areas to be graded and limits of land disturbance; <br /> <br />Co <br /> <br />A tree inventory, by a forester or landscape architect, depicting the size, species, <br />and location of all existing significant trees, specimen trees, and significant <br />woodlands located within the area to be platted or within the parcel of record. <br />These significant trees, specimen trees, and significant woodlands should be <br />identified in both graphic and tabular form; <br /> <br />Identification of all significant trees, specimen trees, and significant woodlands <br />proposed to be removed within the construction area. These significant trees, <br />specimen trees, and significant woodlands should be identified in both graphic <br />and tabular form; <br /> <br />E. Measures to protect significant trees, specimen trees, and significant woodlands; <br /> <br />Size, species, and location of all replacement trees proposed to be planted on <br />the property in accordance with the tree replacement schedule; <br /> <br />A drawing that accurately identifies the location and types of all existing trees and <br />woodlands to be removed and those to be preserved on the lot or plat. The <br />drawing shall illustrate where protection devices will be placed and areas to be <br />used for material and equipment storage. <br /> <br />Applicants of new single-family residential building permits are required to <br />prepare an individual lot tree preservation plan when significant tree, specimen <br />trees, and/or significant woodlands exist on site. Tree preservation plans for <br />individual lots will be required to have the plan prepared by a forester or <br />landscape architect. <br /> <br />Subd 9. Mitigation. In any development where the limits of the tree removal schedule are <br />exceeded, the applicant shall mitigate the tree loss by one of the following methods: <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br /> <br />
