PAUL

WASECA

As I indicated at the CIP workshop, I have contacted Terry Humbert from the District 3
MnDOT Planning staff to discuss options for improving left turns at the above-referenced
intersection. We are currently working on a short-term solution of developing a left turn
for both northbound and southbound Proctor that will be opposite each other rather than
off-set. This will require restriping of the existing streets. We are also working with
MnDOT to develop a long-term strategy which can be implemented in the future. This
would likely consist of widening Proctor as it approaches TH 10 to continue the left turn
line while re-establishing two lanes in each direction. At the same time, there would need
to be improvements to the medians at that intersection, relocating the signal poles and
widening the median opening.

I will have drawings of these two options available for Monday evening's meeting. I hope
to be able to review them with Dave Schwarting before the meeting and make this part of
his CSAH 1 presentation.

If you have any questions regarding this issue, please call.

Sincerely,

MSA, CONSULTING ENGINEERS

Ter'rv~J. ~aurer, P.E.

TJM:tw
000-2302.feb

An Equal Opportunity Employer
